SAFE HOMES

Energy Education

Our intervention strategies are primarily qualitative. We prefer to interact and disseminate our education campaigns face-to-face with communities. To this end, we target schools and end-user communities during the rollout of our household energy safety education campaigns. Such campaigns include, but are not limited to, the following subject matters:

Energy efficiency.

Paraffin Safety – treatment of poisoning and burn prevention.

Electricity safety – dangers of illegal electricity, energy efficiency LP Gas safety – treatment of poisoning and burn prevention.

Safety Workshops

Treatment of burns.

Indoor air pollution.

Strategies to develop green & sustainable household environments.

Deepening of democracy and establishment of sustainable projects.

Advising on types of safe and energy-efficient appliances that are on the market.

School’s support programs
Food security – poultry

What to do should your child ingest paraffin/kerosene.

Stop drop and roll techniques.

How to extinguish small fires

How to call emergency services.

Why you must not cook when you are drunk.

Proper ventilation whilst using appliances in your household.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The primary objective is to save lives, property, and the environment. This fact-finding (research), coupled with awareness and education to vulnerable, impoverished communities, empowers end-users to be more vigilant and take household energy safety ownership.

The areas to be intervened will be capacitated with the latest energy safety techniques like:

How to treat a burn wound.

What to do should there be a fire outbreak in your household.

How to make an escape plan.

Proper safe housekeeping.

Dangers of using a brazier in your household.

Why you must unplug your appliances during load-shedding.

Do not leave combustion appliances unattended.

Why children are vulnerable.

Get Involved!

Yours in sustainable community development.
